    Welcome

Waters of Oshun is the home of sweet water and self love. Oshun is the Orisha of the Rivers for the Yoruba people. She blesses us with sensuality and love but she can also be vain and jealous. Oshun offers us the opportunity to see our joy and pain and her healing waters can wash away that which no longer serves us.

    About Us

    Our mission

    Our staff & volunteers

    Our mission

Waters of Oshun is a healing space for BIPOC survivors of Violence.
Our Mission is to support BIPOC women who are survivors of Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence and other gender-based violence through the use of holistic modalities focused on helping BIPOC heal their spirits.

    Our history

    Our mission

Waters of Oshun started as a seedling five years ago when Rev. Kogan began holding Spiritual Support Circles, for survivors, while working at CONNECT NYC.

We noticed that there were no trauma-informed, holistic modalities for BIPOC survivors of gender-based violence.  Once it is feasible to offer in-person services, Waters of Oshun will begin Phase One: acquiring a brick and mortar space where we will offer holistic healing modalities and space to create community. Some of our offerings will be: acupuncture, yoga, Reiki, massage, book clubs, support group space, space for the community and much more. All on a sliding fee scale with non-traditional open hours to accommodate those who work inside or outside of their homes.

Join our mailing list to receive news about upcoming support circles and other events.

Spiritual Counseling is not about any particular religion rather about meeting the “spark” of who you fully are. DV/IPV and any gender-based violence hurts your heart, your sense of self. In Spiritual Counseling we focus on what you need to feel fully whole in the wake of violence. Using many different modalities including talk, storytelling, prompt writing, and others - our Spiritual Counseling sessions are designed especially for you - no one else. We offer one at a time appointments, as well as a customized Counseling Plan for those who have specific topics you want to cover, or goals you want to meet, as well as a sense of how much time you want to spend in counseling.

Sliding scale available. We only ask that you pay what you can reasonably afford and if you can pay more, your donation will help keep sessions available for others. All sessions are virtual and fifty minutes.
